Correlation Between Immunohistochemical Expression of Epstein-Barr Virus Latent Membrane Protein-1 (LMP-1) and Clinical Stages of Sinonasal Carcinoma

چکیده
Introduction: Sinonasal tumors are rarely found. The protected nature of the sinuses makes early detection growing in these areas difficult. Epstein-Barr virus is one most common viruses found humans; which expresses Latent Membrane Protein-1 (LMP-1) that can transform cell lines and alter phenotype due to its oncogenic potential. Objective: To investigate relationship between immunohistochemical expression from clinical stages sinonasal carcinoma. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out DR. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital anatomic pathology Hasanuddin University Hospital, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, October 2016 March 2017. Histopathological samples biopsy specimen all subjects diagnosed with carcinoma Otorhinolaryngology-Head Neck Surgery outpatient clinic were taken examined for LMP-1 using staining. paraffin block patients. Result: There 33 males (67.3%) 16 females (32.7%) who participated this study. majority participants aged ≥50 years (25 people, 51.0%) worked as farmers (27 55.1%). A significant correlation (Spearman’s r = 0.355 p <0.001). Conclusion: Higher correlates higher stage patients <50 years.

Epstein-Barr virus latent membrane protein-1 (LMP-1) expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma.
OBJECTIVES Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is frequently associated with malignant cell transformation through the action of the oncoprotein latent membrane protein-1 (LMP-1). The present study aimed to determine the presence of EBV in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCCs) and the expression of LMP-1 in neoplastic cells of EBV-positive OSCCs. STUDY DESIGN/METHODS In a retrospective study of 78 OSCCs...

The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is an oncogenic human herpesvirus. EBV latent membrane protein 1 (LMP-1) is a viral oncogene that manifests its oncogenic phenotype through activation of cellular signaling pathways involved in cell growth, survival, differentiation, and transformation. Lytic LMP-1 (lyLMP-1) is a related EBV gene without oncogenic properties. The lyLMP-1 gene is found in 60% of the ...

AIM To compare the immunoreactivity of monoclonal antibodies S12 and CS1-4, which recognise different epitopes of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) latent membrane protein-1 (LMP-1), in EBV associated benign and malignant lymphoproliferative disorders and control tissues processed using different methods. RESULTS Both monoclonal antibodies gave comparable results on frozen tissue sections and form...

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human herpesvirus associated with a number of malignancies. EBV establishes a latent infection in human B cells in vitro, and infected lymphoblastoid cells proliferate indefinitely as a result of virus activation of cellular signalling pathways. Latently infected cells express a viral oncoprotein called the latent membrane protein-1 (LMP-1). LMP-1 signals both prol...
متن کاملEpstein-Barr virus regulates STAT1 through latent membrane protein 1.
This study shows a mechanism for the increase of signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) in Epstein-Barr virus-immortalized cells. Latent membrane protein 1 (LMP-1) expression was sufficient to induce STAT1 expression, DNA binding, and transcriptional activity. LMP-1-expressing cells can induce an increase in STAT1 expression in LMP-negative cells in the same culture, suggest...
